Sensory processing is a neurological function that involves taking in, processing, and responding to sensory information. Everyone receives sensory information from the environment and from within our bodies. This information helps us to navigate safely through our world.
When there is a disruption in this process, difficulties are seen with regard to skill development, the learning process, social interactions, the ability to self soothe or self regulate, self esteem and many other areas of growth and development.
